It's system is odd, but it is the BEST EVER implementation of the action / feat tables that were originally from Marvel Superheroes. Here's where I posted it (at least using the mutations from Mutant Future).ģe is a weird duck. I played this for ages and the only house rule I've implemented really is grabbing the "Mutation Scores" from later editions and retrofitting them. It's easy to see why - it adds a class and level system (levels did exist in 1st edition, BTW), has fairly simple and clear mechanics and had (relatively) lots of supplement and scenario support. That said, some gammaheads swear by the simplicity of the system. It was rushed out the door by TSR, and infamously needed an entire booklet of errata and expansion to make it playable. I personally like 1st edition more - it's more clearly written, and easier to find things, with more wriggle room to adjudicate, but I can't fault you for choosing 2nd.ģrd is a complete revision of the system using a universal table. There is an encumbrance system, which is not present in 1st. Many of the high tech items (like robots) have much more detail. There is much, much, more background material, with excellent maps that provide the backbone of an entire campaign.

Some mutant powers are tweaked, there is a revision to the Technology research mechanic (much faster, but not quite as much flavor). Out There: Ω Edition is, presumably, impending.There are some slight differences between 1st and 2nd edition. Mi-Clos hasn’t announced a release date yet, but the new content will be available at Gamescom 2014, which takes place next month. The extra fiver is for Siddharta Barnhoon’s expanded soundtrack, but if you’d rather stick to iOS or save a few bucks, the App Store version is much cheaper. The game is working its way through Steam Greenlight, and $10 and $15 pre-order bundles are already available.
